Global Down Syndrome Educational Fund – The Denver Foundation

The Global Down Syndrome Educational Series is a two-day conference that features nationally and internationally renowned Down syndrome experts. The first day of the conference is exclusively dedicated to professionals who are working with individuals with Down syndrome, while the second day is dedicated to parents, families and caregivers of people with Down syndrome. The purpose of the conference is to train as many people interacting with Down syndrome (young and adult) in terms of best practices and with the most current information, as well as empowering the local Down syndrome organizations and its members to provide better programs.

The Educational Series was first implemented in Colorado in 2006 and featured the late Dr. William Cohen. The conference had a resounding success, bringing over 202 parents and 170 professionals. Since its inception, the Series educated more than 2,542 parents and professionals in Colorado.
