Prior to his appointment as Chancellor on May 5, 2009, Dr. DiStefano was the top academic officer at CU-Boulder for eight years as the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. He served as interim chancellor twice during pivotal times in the University’s history.

Richard D. Krugman, MD, is the first vice chancellor for health affairs for the University of Colorado Denver. In this role, he supports the deans of the Schools of Dental Medicine, Pharmacy and Public Health, the College of Nursing and the Graduate School for the health sciences. He oversees all clinical programs of the university at its five affiliated hospitals; the Center on Aging, the Center of Bioethics and Humanities, the Colorado Area Health Education (AHEC) system and Risk Management also report to him.

Leslie Leinwand, PhD

An expert in cardiovascular research, Leinwand is principal investigator of a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Grant and National Institutes of Health Cardiovascular Training Grant.  She established and co-directs the University of Colorado’s Cardiovascular Research Institute (CU-CVI), a collaborative group of physicians, molecular biologists and geneticists.

Prior to assuming the role of Vice President for Health Affairs and Executive Vice Chancellor of the Anschutz Medical Campus, Lilly Marks served as Senior Associate Dean of Administration and Finance at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Executive Director of University Physicians, Inc.  She has spent over 25 years in academic medicine in a variety of administrative and leadership positions.
