Ashley Twining Sparhawk

Executive Assistant to Michelle Sie Whitten and Grants Coordinator

Ashley Twining Sparhawk is the Executive Assistant to Michelle Sie Whitten and Global’s Grants Coordinator. She is responsible for assisting with multiple tasks and multi-faceted projects, including but not limited to calendar and time management, overseeing event and conference logistics, assisting with Global’s membership program, and administering the Adults with Down Syndrome Task Force. Ashley ensures that the President and other staff are properly prepared in order to be prompt and efficient. Ashley also manages Global’s two grantmaking programs for local Down syndrome organizations, the Global Down Syndrome Foundation Educational Grants and the Self-Advocate Employment Initiative Grants.

Ashley earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from the University of Colorado Denver. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ashley worked as an office manager at her family’s construction supply company. She always dreamed of pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector, and in 2013 Ashley joined the Global team. She thoroughly enjoys working for the Foundation and is proud of the work Global achieves to improve the lives of people with Down syndrome.

Ashley is a Colorado native and lives in Arvada with her husband and dog. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys home brewing, hiking, camping, movies, and spending time with family and friends.
