Ellen Rudolph Mednick
Consultant, Down Syndrome World Managing Editor
Ellen is managing editor of Down Syndrome World magazine, published quarterly by the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. She is responsible for the day-to-day operations of DSW, planning, assigning and editing content, overseeing production schedules and supervising editorial staff and freelancers. Ellen first volunteered for the Foundation during the initial Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show in 2008 and has been helping out with the fabulous models ever since.
Prior to joining Global in 2015, Ellen was Executive Director, Creative Services at Starz Entertainment where she oversaw the creation of on-air promotion for the Starz and Encore channels. Before Starz, Ellen was a writer-producer of movie and television trailers for the USA Network and Sci-Fi Channel, Director of Creative Services for the Dave Winfield Foundation and associate editor of 3-2-1 Contact Magazine published by Children’s Television Workshop in New York. When Starz recruited Ellen to join the Colorado-based company, she couldn’t resist the beauty of the mountains and all the new adventures which awaited her.
Ellen holds a BA degree in history and comparative literature from Queens College (City University of New York) and a MA in communications and film/television from the New York Institute of Technology.
She is the proud mother of two sons, one of whom has Fragile X, and two grandsons.
