Karen Mandel

Database Manager

Karen Mandel is the Database Manager for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. She is responsible for converting the current donor management database into Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge in 2013.  The Raiser’s Edge is a sophisticated database that helps manage the myriad details that are necessary to run a successful development office.

Karen’s career in database management began at St Mary’s Academy with her first data conversion project. She has worked at the Denver Children’s Home and for most of her career was the Database Manager at History Colorado, formerly known as the Colorado Historical Society.

Karen loves to read, garden and do needle work. She got her passion for these hobbies from her creative mother, who was always working with her hands, and her father, who taught her many useful handyman skills. An enthusiastic volunteer, Karen has made numerous lifetime friends through various volunteer opportunities for Denver nonprofits.

Karen lives with her husband, Aaron, their Caviler King Charles Spaniel, Morty, and Bob the cat in east Denver.
