Martha Cronen Keele

Sr. Director of Events and Government Affairs

As the Sr. Director of Events and Government Affairs for Global, Martha Cronen Keele is responsible for raising crucial funds to support research, medical care, education and advocacy for individuals with Down syndrome.

Martha helps Global further its mission by guiding the events team’s long-term strategy to generate new revenue through annual giving. She is responsible for multi-faceted projects, including but not limited to: developing new events, overseeing event and conference logistics, and managing Global’s membership program. Martha also runs the award-winning Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show – the single largest annual fundraiser for Down syndrome in the world, which presents the Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Awards.

As Global’s government liaison, Martha directs the advocacy strategy for increased research funding and improved medical care for people with Down syndrome. She works with many families across the U.S. to advocate for the differently-abled and is passionate that people with Down syndrome deserve federal government support to live healthy and productive lives.

Martha joined the team part-time in 2011 and began to engage with the Down syndrome community. After learning about the lack of funding and immense human and civil rights challenges this population faces, she was inspired to join full time in 2013 and to devote her career to making a difference.
