GLOBAL Awards
Education Awards
OVERVIEW
Award applications must be for a program, conference, workshop, or webinar related to research, medical care, and/or health outcome improvements for children and/or adults Down syndrome. Target audiences may include people with Down syndrome, family members, and professionals. Review ideas for applications specific to research and medical care here.
Awards range from $5,000 to $10,000 each.
Awards are issued on an annual basis and there is no limit to consecutive funding.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicant must be a GLOBAL Organization Member (to join or to learn more about memberships details and benefits, go to globaldownsyndrome.org/global-membership/).
The award application must be for a new or significant extension of an existing program, conference, workshop, or webinar related to research, medical care, and/or health and wellness program.
The award application must provide a clear way to measure impact that benefits people with Down syndrome.
Only organizations that are designated 501(c)(3) by the IRS can apply, or if located outside of the US, equivalent proof of government non-profit charitable status.
Organizations should link from their website to the Global Down Syndrome Foundation (www.globaldownsyndrome.org) as a resource. An Award Agreement with terms of post-program reporting must be signed once an Awardee is chosen in order to access the Award funds.
Employment Awards
OVERVIEW
Award applications must be submitted with a specific employee or employment program in mind. Examples of successful awards include underwriting for a hire, job coach, expanded hours, and vendors who employ or are run by people with Down syndrome.
Awards are issued in amounts up to $2,000 each.
Awards are issued on an annual basis and there is no limit to consecutive funding.
