Alzheimer\u2019s Disease & Down Syndrome Research Initiative
\n<\/a><\/span><\/strong>

There are 27 National Institute on Aging (NIA) designated Alzheimer\u2019s Disease Centers in the United States, but not one within a 600 mile radius of Denver or with a sub-specialty in Down syndrome. The Global Down Syndrome Foundation has partnered with the University of Colorado\u2019s Department of Neurology at the Anschutz Medical Campus on this important initiative. Since Alzheimer\u2019s disease and Down syndrome are mechanistically linked, funding for this initiative will accelerate the development of new treatments for both patients.
