Global Honored for Leadership & Advocacy

Global Down Syndrome Foundation President & CEO, Michelle Sie Whitten, is honored for her leadership and dedication to improving the lives of people with Down syndrome.

 


At Volunteers of America’s annual Western Fantasy Gala, Michelle Sie Whitten was honored as the 2019 Humanitarian of the Year for her important work in human and civil rights, especially for those who are differently-abled.



 
Denver Business Journal awarded Michelle Sie Whitten with their prestigious “Most Admired CEO” award for leading her team to many milestone successes, including a record-breaking tripling of the NIH budget for Down syndrome research.



At the Biennial of the Americas event, Michelle Sie Whitten was invited to participate on the Women Leading with Empathy Panel, moderated by Director of the Biennial of the Americas Erin Trapp. Whitten presented alongside other panel participants: CEO of ZOMALAB, Valeria Alberola and Director of the Empathy Museum, Clare Patey. The panel preceded a much-anticipated keynote from Richard Branson.
