Global Down Syndrome Foundation teams up with the International Mosaic Down Syndrome Association

idmsa-national-president Global Down Syndrome Foundation is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the International Mosaic Down Syndrome Association (IMDSA) annual Research and Retreat Weekend held Thursday, June 22-25 at the Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs! This weekend will connect families whose loved ones have Down syndrome–including mosaic Down syndrome, and provide an opportunity for individuals to participate in ongoing Down syndrome research. IMDSA does amazing work around the country benefiting the Down syndrome community and Global couldn’t be more proud to host them in our own backyard–Colorado!

The weekend will feature presentations from lead Down syndrome researchers, a camp for kids and self-advocates, a day at the zoo, and the opportunity to take part in important research!

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation believes great medical care and research are key factors impacting the overall health and wellness for children and adults with Down syndrome. Global’s affiliates, including Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome, Sie Center for Down Syndrome, Rocky Mountain Alzheimer’s Disease Center, and the top supporters, including Arc and Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association, share this value. Global is proud to collaborate with these and so many other fabulous organizations including IMDSA to advance Down syndrome research.

Keith Smith from the Linda Crnic Institute for Down syndrome will present a ground breaking presentation on the Human Trisome Project, “An Unprecedented and Exciting Down Syndrome Research Discovery Engine.” Another icon in the Down syndrome community, Dr. Huntington Potter, will also be presenting on the connection between Alzheimer’s and Down syndrome, “Two Sides of the Same Coin.”  You can register here!

IMDSA is also looking for volunteers on Friday, June 23rd for the Youth Camp! Participate in miniature golf, bowling, obstacle courses, and much more! Sign up to volunteer here!
