Leah Boldt, BS, M.ED
Executive Director, Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands
Leah Boldt is the Executive Director of the Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands, an organization that serves nearly 500 families who have a loved one with Down syndrome in the Omaha metro area. Her journey in the disabilities world began after her 3rd child was born with Down syndrome in 2011.
In 2012, Leah joined the Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands Board of Directors. As a former high school science teacher, Leah wanted to use her skills to help educate others. She began working for the Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands as the Education Program Coordinator in 2014 and became the Executive Director in February 2017.
Leah serves as a member of the National Down Syndrome Advocacy Coalition, as a National Down Syndrome Society Ambassador, serves on the Board of Directors for the Autism Center of Nebraska, and advocates for individuals with disabilities at both the Nebraska State Capital and in Washington, D.C.
