Terri Lancaster

Executive Director, Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond (DSAGR)

Terri Lancaster has been the Executive Director for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond (DSAGR) since 2014. DSAGR is a small but growing non-profit that serves over 650 families in the Central Virginia Area. Handling the day-to-day operations, overseeing all of our fundraising efforts and developing and cultivating community relationships are all important aspects of my position. Every day is like opening a new box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get and she find that very exciting!

Terri earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical education at James Madison University and her Master’s Degree in Exercise and Fitness at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worked in a variety of jobs since receiving her undergraduate degree including as a public school teacher for 15 years, retail, fitness instructor, food service, Parks and Recreation and stay at home mom. Staying home with her two girls allowed her to volunteer for many different organizations in leadership roles. These experiences helped Her develop the skills necessary for her role an Executive Director. It was through volunteer service that she found her passion for non-profit work and the rewards of serving the community in this capacity.

Terri has been married to her husband for 33 years and they have two daughters who are 20 and 25. Terri loves to read, cycle, play scrabble and tennis and spending time in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She also loves to travel to new places and is always up for a new adventure.
