Award-Winning Actor to Escort Models with Down Syndrome at the Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show on Oct. 24 in Denver

WHAT: Global Down Syndrome Foundation organizes the annual Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show – the largest single fundraiser benefiting people with Down syndrome. The event features silent auction items, “priceless” live auction items, a sumptuous dinner, two Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Award winners, the Global Down Syndrome Foundation Ambassador, and an inspirational fashion show featuring models with Down syndrome and celebrity escorts.

WHO: The multi-talented TERRENCE HOWARD is best known for his Golden Globe and Academy Award nominated work in Hustle & Flow, as well as for his supporting role in Crash, for which he received a National Board of Review Award for Best Breakthrough Performance. Howard is one of the most prolific actors of his generation; his feature film credits include diverse roles in Valerie FlakeBest Laid Plans, the Academy Award nominated Ray, Pride, The Brave One, August Rush, and Ironman. He was recently seen as Nelson Mandela in Winnie Mandela, and starred in the award-winning Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Prisoners, The Best Man Holiday and St. Vincent. He currently stars in the Fox musical drama series Empire.

Howard will join a roster of celebrities escorting models with Down syndrome at the fashion show. Past celebrities have included Jamie Foxx, Alec Baldwin, Helen Hunt, Laura Dern, John C. McGinley, Beverly Johnson, Jeff Probst and Quincy Jones.

Global Down Syndrome Foundation is dedicated to significantly improving the lives of people with Down syndrome through research, medical care and related education and advocacy. Proceeds from the Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show will fund life-changing research and medical care for Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease at the Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome and the Anna and John J. Sie Center for Down Syndrome.
