The new, state-of-the-art Global Down Syndrome Foundation Education Center is opening! The GLOBAL Computer Class will be our first program organized in our new center. It is led by experienced educators and designed by experts in education, curriculum modification, and behavior for individuals with Down syndrome in collaboration with Wisconsin Technical Colleges.
The class will teach:
- Microsoft Word basics (including typing skills, creating documents)
- Managing a professional email account
- Introduction to computer and internet safety
This class will also include a research component used to gather data to create an evidence-based computer training program for individuals with Down syndrome.
The GLOBAL Computer Class is a trial program, but if it is successful, we will continue to grow the class and expand the curriculum!
