Global’s Statement on Orlando Tragedy
We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragedy in Orlando. All life is a gift and a treasure. Ultimately, kindness and understanding is the only path to world peace and co-existence. In the US, we are allowed and encouraged to show kindness and understanding to all – in fact celebration of diversity defines the very fabric of our nation. As details continue to unfold around this awful act of violence, we reflect on state Senator Michael Johnston’s moving essay from the 2012 Aurora Shootings: LOVE BACK (not FIGHT BACK). Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and their loved ones.
