Overview

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation and the Anna and John J. Sie Foundation are proud to be associated with the John Lynch Foundation. On Friday, May 12, 2017, the Lynch Foundation will announce the winners of its post-secondary/college scholarships at the annual Salute the Stars Luncheon.

FOUR of these scholarships will go to Colorado students who are differently-abled – the John Lynch Foundation Exceptional Star of the Year Award and Scholarship. TWO of the four scholarships are specifically for students with Down syndrome.

How to Apply

Self-advocates are encouraged to apply, and if you know a self-advocate who has a dream of college or other post-secondary opportunities, please send them the application and/or help them to apply! The application is easy – (1) a one-page essay from the student, (2) two letters of recommendation from a teacher, coach or mentor, and (3) the simple application form.

The deadline for applications is Thursday, March 24, 2017. Please send your application to Maggie Robinson at maggie@johnlynchfoundation.org and include “Exceptional Star of the Year” in the subject line. You can also copy Megan Lindstrom at mlindstrom@ajsfoundation.com and let us know if you would like a mentor recommendation from our team at Global.
