New Goal: Registration Open for Dare to Play Soccer Camps

August 30th, 2012 by Global Down Syndrome Foundation

gds_008After the success of last year’s first Dare to Play Soccer camp in the Denver area, the Global Down Syndrome Foundation is expanding this year’s soccer programs to include not only a second year in Denver but also a new camp in Ohio.

More than 60 aspiring soccer stars who happen to have Down syndrome get to spend three days learning soccer skills and get to show off during halftime of a Major League Soccer game – either Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, during the Colorado Rapids game at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo.; or Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, during the Columbus Crew game at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

In addition to three clinics, each participant will receive a soccer uniform, a training T-shirt, a ticket to the soccer game, food and beverage, and the opportunity to showcase soccer skills during the halftime show. Costs vary by camp, and partial and full scholarships may be available. See the registration page for more information.

The Dare to Play Soccer camps are among many programming opportunities presented by the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. We also offer the Ed McCaffrey Dare to Play Football Camp, Denver Broncos Cheerleaders Dare to Cheer Camp, Dare to Move with Pure Barre Class and Be Beautiful Be Yourself Dance Class, with other offerings to come.

Registration for the Denver and Columbus soccer camps is now open, but registration will close when the camps are full, so act fast.
