Dare to Play Soccer

The Dare to Play Soccer Camp provides an opportunity for individuals with Down syndrome (males and females) ages 7 and above to learn the basic skills, camaraderie and joy of soccer from college and professional soccer players. The camp is a collaboration between Global, Regis University Men’s Soccer and the Colorado Rapids.

The Dare to Play Soccer Camp provides an opportunity for individuals with Down syndrome (males and females) ages 7 and above to learn the basic skills, camaraderie and joy of soccer from college and professional soccer players. Each camper is paired with a Pal from Regis University Men’s Soccer team and lead by Head Coach Tony McCall, for one-on-one attention, assistance and fun. The Camp includes three practice dates and two game performances! The performance games take place during halftime at a professional Rapids match in front of thousands of fans and at a collegiate Regis University match.

The 2014 Global Down Syndrome Foundation Dare to Play Soccer Camp in collaboration with the Colorado Rapids Soccer Club and Regis University Soccer Team. This year the camp participants had three practices and a showcase scrimmage at a Regis University collegiate match.

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation\'s Dare to Play Soccer Camp was held in Denver in September and October 2012 in conjunction with the Colorado Rapids soccer team, Regis University and Adidas. Campers attended three days of clinics and then showed off their skills at halftime of a Major League Soccer game.

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation\'s Dare to Play Soccer Camp was held in Columbus, Ohio, in September 2012 in conjunction with the Columbus Crew soccer team, the Crew Academy and Adidas. Campers attended three days of clinics and then showed off their skills at halftime of a Major League Soccer game. This was the first Dare to Play Soccer Camp held outside of Denver.

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation Dare to Play Soccer Camp provides an opportunity for males and females age 7 and up to learn the basics, camaraderie and joy of soccer from college and professional soccer players. In Denver, each camper is paired with a Regis University or Colorado Rapids soccer player for one-on-one attention, assistance and fun. In Ohio, the campers are paired with members of the Columbus Crew Academy and Columbus Crew.
