Global Down Syndrome Foundation Kicks Off 2013 Denver Broncos Cheerleaders Dare to Cheer, Dare to Play Football Camps

WHO

Children and adults with Down syndrome in the Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s Dare to Play Football Camp will be led by coaches and paired with Valor Christian High School players, as well as former and current professional football players and coaches, as they learn core touch-football skills and team-building activities.

Children and adults with Down syndrome in the Global Down Syndrome Foundation’s Denver Broncos Cheerleaders Dare to Cheer Camp will learn cheerleading skills and routines from Denver Broncos Cheerleaders.

WHAT

Camp participants will learn football and cheerleading skills at clinics, and show off their abilities and teamwork at a community football game in front of more than 400 cheering fans, with a halftime performance by the camp cheerleaders.

Since the Global Down Syndrome Foundation launched the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders Dare to Cheer Camp and the Dare to Play Football Camp in 2010, celebrity coaches at the football camp have included Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan, former Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick, Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, and former Denver Broncos players Ed McCaffrey, Brian Dawkins, Mark Schlereth and Al Wilson.
