This informative GLOBAL Webinar discussed common developmental & behavioral characteristics, skills, and abilities in children with Down syndrome; strategies and interventions to support early development; and clinical research updates and opportunities for young children with Down syndrome.

The webinar attracted over 250 registrants from 40 states and 14 countries (Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Guatemala, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Peru, South Africa, and Uganda).

Nicole Baumer, MD, MEd

Dr. Baumer is a child neurologist / neurodevelopmental disabilities specialist. She completed medical training at Harvard Medical school, pediatrics training at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Training at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Baumer also studied Special Education, and has a Masters Degree in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She specializes in clinical care of children with Down syndrome, with focus on development and behavior. Her research is focused on neurodevelopment in Down syndrome, and on interventions to optimize health, learning, and development. Dr. Baumer’s older sister, Heather, has Down syndrome and has been a huge inspiration in her life and career.
