This informative GLOBAL Webinar discussed Down syndrome and congenital heart disease; long term follow up of adults with congenital heart disease and Down syndrome; and long term follow up of patients with Down syndrome without known congenital heart disease.
The webinar attracted over 250 registrants from 35 states and 9 countries (Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Ethiopia, Finland, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, and Puerto Rico).

Arvind Hoskoppal, MD
Dr. Hoskoppal is the director of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program at UPMC, a joint program of the Heart Institute at UPMC Children’s and the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute at UPMC Presbyterian. He is also the co-director of the UPMC aortic center. As a national leader in adult congenital heart disease, he brings a special focus on advanced echocardiography including transesophageal echocardiography and aortopathies.
Dr. Hoskoppal graduated from Bangalore University, India in 2002. He then pursued a Masters in Health Finance and Management from Johns Hopkins University. He then completed his residency in a combined Med-Peds program at Creighton University Medical Center, followed by pediatric Cardiology fellowship at UCSF Medical Center. With an interest in adult congenital heart disease (ACHD), he further subspecialized, completing an ACHD fellowship the Mayo Clinic. He most recently received his masters in business administration (MBA) from the university of Pittsburgh Katz school of business (2022).
