Deborah Fidler, PhD, is a Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at CSU. She has been studying development in children with Down syndrome and other disabilities for the past 10 years in the Developmental Disabilities Research Lab at CSU. She is the author of over 45 articles and chapters on the development of problem solving skills, language skills, motor planning, reading, memory, social relatedness, and self-regulation skills in children with Down syndrome and other disabilities. Dr. Fidler currently serves as Associate Editor of the American Journal on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (formerly AJMR). She has received funding for her research from the National Institutes of Health (NICHD), the US Department of Education, the National Down Syndrome Society, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the March of Dimes Foundation.
