Summary: | The Down Syndrome Clinic at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt is a place that serves all the health needs of a person with Down syndrome. The clinic works with families and gives care in the fields of: developmental pediatrics, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech & language therapy, nutrition counseling, educational and behavioral counseling. The clinic also helps put together a care plan with other medical areas that your child may need such as genetics, cardiology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, neurology, audiology, orthopedics, psychiatry, and hematology and oncology. We help families get specialized and personal care, give information on health services, link families with resources in their community, and teach parents and communities about the strengths and abilities of children with Down syndrome. Patients must be referred to our clinic from their Primary Care Physician or other medical professional. | |
