Chapman Bryant Bio PhotoAnthony “Chapman” Bryant II is based in Washington, DC, and serves as the Manager of Public Policy and Advocacy at the Global Down Syndrome Foundation (GLOBAL). As part of the GLOBAL Advocacy Team, Chapman advocates and represents GLOBAL’s legislative priorities in collaboration with the United States Congress, the White House, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Chapman supports GLOBAL’s annual AcceptAbility Advocacy Day on the Hill, briefings, hearings and grass roots initiatives. His responsibilities also include raising awareness for GLOBAL’s transformative research and medical care through events such as the AcceptAbility Gala in Washington, DC.

Prior to his role at GLOBAL, Chapman was a Policy Associate at the National Down Syndrome Congress where he oversaw key policy areas affecting people with disabilities, particularly Down syndrome, and the harmful policies surrounding the marriage penalty. With several years of experience working in both the U.S. Senate and interning in the U.S. House of Representatives, Chapman brings key legislative and advocacy knowledge to his current role. His passion for disability rights is deeply rooted in his personal life, as his sister was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth in November 2010.

Chapman’s other non-profit experience includes interning with the Miss America Organization. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in English from Mississippi State University.
